چکیده

A 56-year-old man admitted with coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) became severely ill, required ventilator support and intensive care unit management. After weaning, he was found to have quadriparesis. Guillain–Barré syndrome (GBS) suspected administration of high-dose intravenous immunoglobulin (IVIg) considered. However, markedly prolonged compound muscle action potential (CMAP) duration observed, leading a diagnosis critical illness myopathy (CIM). Therefore, IVIg not given at all, supportive continued. good functional recovery obtained. Prolonged CMAP is characteristic finding CIM. CIM following severe COVID-19 infection probably common, although the diagnostic value widely recognized. This deserves more attention because it contributes early differentiation between GBS use in patients may cause thrombotic complications worsen prognosis.
